A Trip To The North

Salam and Hi ! :)

Quick post about my trip to the North ! I mean north England, not North UK. Went there with a friend like few months ago. had love to post about my cruise trip but most of the pic on the cruise is actually not with me (with my friends) - and - my friends are busy with their examination, hence, later.

North England is in the border of England and Scotland. The accent is pretty thick there. Its like they are speaking another language, not English. but. They are speaking English - their local English or they call it geordie accent. I went to Durham and Tynemouth.

Lets start with Durham. (the Londoners pronounce  - Darem - but the local say - Durem)

Durham is kinda old city - historical and very peaceful. Historically it was found in A.D 995, then since 12t century ruled by Symeon of Durham - a bishop. Durham is very famous for its castle and cathedral. It is indeed one of the world heritage. Bishops of Durham were also called - Bishop by Divine Province and they enjoyed extraordinary powers so far reaching that the steward of Bishop Antony Bek commented in 1299 AD:

“There are two kings in England, namely the Lord King of England, wearing a crown in sign of his regality and the Lord Bishop of Durham wearing a mitre in place of a crown, in sign of his regality in the diocese of Durham”

The city is basically like a holy city (once upon a time) and when I visited the castle, they are having Sunday prayer which is for me - is RARE since not many churches in England still hold Sunday prayer. Most of the English are Protestant so they are totally different than the catholic Christian.

The castle was built on top of a hill (strategically for defense against the enemy which was Scots.lol). It is such a beautiful castle. Nicely built nearby a river. It gives you the ancient feeling.  Like imagining yourself going back to 1400 century, and enjoying such a scenery - wearing your bonnet cap, a gown (?) for a walk . Hehe. Too much romance novel induced! lol. We took a walked at the riverside which was so clandestine.

 Wonder what they did here.
The chairs were crafted with weird drawing, and one big chair. Maybe the biggest one was the King's. Perhaps they enjoyed their tea here ? Maybe.

Despite the fact that I visited this place in February, and its supposed to be a Spring season, but the trees were not ready yet to show its buds. Just  abundance of flowers but just daffodil, shrubs and small lilies? it that lilies? I doubt.

End of the riverside. Climbed up the stairs to go back to the small town. And we had lunch at nearby cafe. Its a very cozy French Cafe actually. A lovely one with French songs been played. This cafe is just next to the river's bridge. Could see river view from the cafe's window. There were plenty of other cafes, English and coffee cant be separated.

My vanilla latte - as usual and my starter
Salmon and baguette and cheese which was extremely delicious !

Salmon omelette.

We spent a day in Durham, the next day we went to Tynemouth.

Tynemouth

Its a beach with lighthouse in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Beach with cliff and strong wind. lol. There was a small castle on top of the cliff, and from the top of the cliff you can see a lovely view of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

There was a flea market, selling old stuff and local food. I'm the type who loves FOOD, so never missed to bought the local food. Tried some tasty brownies and scones. There were types of scones actually, not just the butter and cream, like pumpkin, seeds, oats and the plain butter, or raisins.

Seagull which knows how to pose. lol.

The light house.

Look at that beach, its rocky. No white sands like Malaysia's, that is why most European visited our country for the beach. Our beach is so damn beautiful ! :)

I love families here. The father/ husband are a more gentleman. Sometimes and often you can see them doing groceries shopping, or stroll their babies. I like their affection on their wife. Plus they are not like Malaysian whom emphasize more on appearance. What most important for them is : soulmate.

View from the top of the cliff. There. Over there. Thats Newcastle Upon Tyne.

My second lunch (?) lol. Fish and chips and scampi. I didnt eat both, one was my friend's. but the size was HUGE...!And it was delicious. I love scampi the most.

Lovely car isnt it ? That Audi R8 which Adam used to send off Ariana.

Time to go to another place - Angel of North (a must visit) . Love the apartment here, given the fact that its just few yards away from the beach. Its marvelous ! And yeah, sports cars are common here. The price is cheaper compared to in Malaysia. You can pay GBP 199.00 per month for a Mini Cooper. So...its affordable :)

This is Angel of North. Located on a hill... it just a statue but you can see beautiful scenery from the top of the hill. And there is a horse farm right in front of it.

 I love horses !

The famous statue - Angel of North

I wonder, if an angel is really this big, and when we can see it, we must freak out arent we ? Especially malaikat maut. gigil. Allah cakap we are assisted with two angels to write down our action - every single second...whoa...lol

How cute - arent they ? ;)

Its very interesting to see how different places have different accent, and different town structure, different weather..and different personality.Indeed Allah created all of us differently so that we will integrate, not differentiate :)

"O Mankind, we created you from a single pair of a male and a female, and made you in to tribes and nations so that you may know each other (not that you despise each other). Verily, the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is he who is most righteous of you." (Al-Quran, Chapter 49, Verse 13)

- so lets find a husband from another race (?) haha what a conclusion -

Till Then Guys !
