ABOUT ME

Evelyn Rose is my pen name. I started writing on my blog since 2012. Writing is like therapy for me and I would like to keep it that way. I once wanted to be a full-time writer, right after PhD (in Engineering!) I tried being a full-time writer for a couple of months before starting my job as a scientist at Sir Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research, Newcastle University (UK) but it just does not feel right. I can't wake up and try to write. I write from my observation, from things I learned in my life... So juggling between managing my engineering consultancy end green technology business, writing and being a wife (the easiest part as my husband is not so demanding, hehe) seems to work best for me. The downside is, it takes ages for me to finish a book. Especially switching from engineering mode to writer's mode was difficult for me before. Perhaps it gets better now. Let see! 

By the way, I received education from Newcastle University and Sheffield University, the United Kingdom in MEng in Microelectronic (2010) and Ph.D. in Net Zero Energy Building and Renewable Energy (2016). I used to work at the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development as Pegawai Tadbir dan Diplomatik (2011-2012) and Sir Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research, Newcastle University as a research scientist (2016 - 2018) before returning to Malaysia with my English husband whom I dearly love. We set up an engineering company together with another 2 shareholders. So if you want to reduce your business's energy bills let us know (wink!)
